About Rozz...

 

Rozz's passion for psychological healing over a period of 40 years has taken her into a lifelong study and specialisation of trauma related impacts on people's psychological health, both recent trauma/mistreatment and past childhood and adolescent trauma/mistreatment. Rozz is a well respected psychologist in Brisbane who is known for her compassion and dedication to her clients. 

Rozz completed her degrees in Education and in Psychology at the University of Queensland. She has been a member of the Australian Psychological Society since 1984 and has studied extensively in Europe and in USA. She has given papers and workshops at International Conferences in the UK, USA, Europe and in Australia.

Her internship was completed at "The Meadows" in Wickenberg, Arizona, USA in 1987.

Rozz has had decades of experience practicing EMDR and was a very early adopter of this trauma therapy. She did training with Francine Shapiro in 1992 in Australia and continues to upgrade her skills in this therapy. She is an accredited practitioner with the EMDRAA. 

 

How can I help you?

Through counselling and highly specialised therapy, I help and guides people in their quest to heal from traumatic, neglectful, less than nurturing experiences, (physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and sexual) inflicted on them during childhood, adolescence and adulthood. 

Trauma/mistreatment impacts include:

  • Depression;

  • Anxiety and panic attacks;

  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD);

  • Dissociative Disorders;

  • Addictions;

  • Relationship dysfunction;

  • Family dysfunction;

  • Personality Disorders. 

 

What approaches do I use?

The therapies I use include: 

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Densensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy);

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS);

  • Inner Child Therapy;

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT);

  • Ego State Therapy (Voice Dialogue);

  • Gestalt Processes;

  • Talk Therapy. 

Can you receive a Medicare rebate with me?

Yes you can receive a Medicare rebate  if you have a Better Access to Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or a referral from your Psychiatrist or you are covered for Psychology with your private health fund. 

What is the cost of a session?

$150.00 per session with payment required at the end of each session. 

What days and hours do I do?

Face to face sessions and Telehealth (video or telephone) sessions: Tuesday, Friday and Saturday;

Telehealth only: Wednesdays.
