​About Graham...

​

Graham is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (MAASW, AMHSW) and Accredited Supervisor (MAASW, AS), registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers. With a Masters in Social Work from QUT, he is passionate about helping people improve their mental health and lead more fulfilling lives. He has extensive experience in working with adolescents and young adults from 12 to 25 years old. He has several years experience in working with clients presenting with complex issues.

Graham has a background in Disability Services, Youth Justice, and over five years as a Senior Mental Health  Clinician at Headspace, Brisbane. He has supported clients presenting with a range of issues including complex trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), complex PTSD (c-PTSD) and traumatic stress, Anxiety Disorders, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depressive Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder and Psychosis.

I offer a person-centred and strengths based approach empowering clients to overcome obstacles and thrive. I combine a number of therapies and tailor them to suit each client.

In my private practice my primary specialisation is with clients presenting with:

  • Anxiety Disorders (including Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder and Health Anxiety);

  • Depressive Disorders (including Major Depressive Disorder (MDD);

Furthermore, I also specialise in assisting clients with:

  • Handling stress and overcoming challenges;

  • Navigating difficult or overwhelming emotions;

  • Speaking up with confidence (assertiveness);

  • Building self-confidence and resilience (values work);

  • Finding calm and focus (relaxation and mindfulness strategies).

 

​​What approaches do I use?​

I have a trauma-informed, evidence based approach to therapy. I use a combination of therapies ensuring that each session is personalised to suit the unique needs of every individual, promoting lasting change and personal growth.

 

The approaches I use include:

​

  • Metacognitive Therapy (MCT);

  • Narrative Therapy;

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT);

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT);

  • Solution-Focused Therapy.

Can you receive a Medicare rebate with me?

​Yes you can receive a Medicare rebate of $85.20 if you have a Better Access to Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or a referral from your Psychiatrist. Many health insurance plans may also offer rebates. No referral is required to access sessions, although one is needed for rebates.

 

What is the cost of a session?​

Therapy sessions are $160 for a 50 minute consultation.​

What days and hours do I do?

​I am available for in-person sessions on Saturday or for Telehealth by appointment only.
